Overview
This course will provide a basic overview of the history and theory of Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) as well as information on patient care related to the care of VAD patients.

- Identify when Ventricular assist devices (VAD) were first used
- Identify the types of VADs in use today
- Identify anticoagulation strategy with VAD patients
- Identify adverse events to monitor when caring for VAD patients
