Overview

This course will provide a basic overview of the history and theory of Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) as well as information on patient care related to the care of VAD patients.

  • Identify when Ventricular assist devices (VAD) were first used
  • Identify the types of VADs in use today
  • Identify anticoagulation strategy with VAD patients
  • Identify adverse events to monitor when caring for VAD patients
